CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer is proud to present the CSAA IG Actuarial ExamScholarship and Externship to encourage students to pursue a career in actuarial science.
Consistently ranked as one of the top 5 jobs by various job agencies, the actuarial profession offers great starting salaries, job security in uncertain times, and the opportunity to use your talents to make a meaningful impact. With the expansion of insurance companies both nationally and globally, the actuary’s skill set is becoming more and more valuable in today’s job market... but you’ve got to pass an actuarial exam before you can get your foot in the door. The recipient of the scholarship will receive: 1) Reimbursement of exam fees and the cost of one study manual (up to $300) for one CAS exam taken in 2016. 2) All-expense-paid trip to CSAA IG headquarters in Walnut Creek, California, to meet with our wonderful team of actuaries and experience a day in the life of a Property & Casualty actuary. 3) Guaranteed interview for our summer internship program. To qualify for this scholarship, you must: 1) Be a full-time college freshman or sophomore majoring or intending to major in mathematics, statistics, economics, or other related field. 2) Have a 3.3 or above GPA. 3) Have not already passed more than 1 actuarial exam. As well as an application, there will be an interview in the process to help us get to know you better and give you an opportunity to ask us questions about the actuarial career.
